Sockapalooza Yarn!

I bought my Sockapaloooza yarn today. I picked Socks That Rock in the new Knitty Rocks colorway. My pal said she liked bright colors and has been on a pink/green/orange binge lately and I think the Knitty Rocks colorway meets all of those requirements.

Now I have to find a pattern to go with the yarn. Any suggestions?

How'd I do?

Crochet at least 10 rows on the chocolate brown and turquoise afghan

Chocolate

Finish the right front of the Central Park Hoodie sweater (all the other pieces are done)

-Yes! The blocking of the pieces is on my to do list this week.

Knit a pair of baby booties for a shower on Saturday to match this hat.

-Nope.  I started them but didn't finish them.

Knit 5 inches on the Chevron Scarf

- Sort of. I knit about 3 inches.

Knit a swatch from a yarn you love.

- Do these count as a swatch? I knit 4 of these in a 24 hour period. Once I start, I can't stop knitting them. I'm up to 6 squares total now, that's 1/4 of the way done for the blanket and then I'm going to make some pillows too.

Lizardridge

P.S. The one on the bottom I call the Frankenstein square.

Pug Love

Oldada

I haven't posted one of her in a while, so here you go. This is Ada sitting in my lap and resting her head on my chest in the car on the way back from a road trip to Columbus last weekend. What you can't see is that she did this on top of my knitting because I wasn't paying enough attention to her.

Also, I've been writing down some weekly knitting goals in my Google Calendar each week to keep me on track and to prevent myself from starting too many new knitting projects and not finishing the ones I already have. This week marks the 4th week of setting weekly goals and it's working pretty well so far. I've decided to start publishing them on my blog.

This week my goals are :

  1. Crochet at least 10 rows on the chocolate brown and turquoise afghan
  2. Finish the right front of the Central Park Hoodie sweater (all the other pieces are done)
  3. Knit a pair of baby booties for a shower on Saturday to match this hat.
  4. Knit 5 inches on the Chevron Scarf
  5. Knit a swatch from a yarn you love.

Fruits on Fire

Scarfwip

While listening to the Lime N Violet podcast, I clicked over to the chevronscarf flickr group while they were chatting about it and fell instantly in love. I've always admired the pattern in Last Minute Knitted Gifts but never wanted to splurge on 4 skeins of Koigu for a scarf. I got to thinking about my voluminous sock yarn stash and some of the Rockin' Sock Club Socks That Rock kits that I received last year and decided to use up my December kit which was a skein of Mustang Sally (the berry colored skein on the left) and my Rare Gem called Unusual (obviously the skein on the right). I was not fond of the Rare Gem in the skein, it was very purple and orange. Once I wound it into a little yarn cake, I liked it a little better because it was easier to see the colors blended together and once I started knitting the Chevron Scarf, I fell in love.

I have not forsaken my Central Park Hoodie, I am on sleeve island. I am knitting both at once and I need a little respite from the green. There's nothing like a scarf that reminds you of a ripe summer fruit basket to break up the monotony of sleeve island!

This is also the second Rockin' Sock Club kit that I have used and not made socks with. I might use up the rest of my kits for non sock projects and see if I can come up with creative ways to use up the pretty club colorways that I am not absolutely in love with.
