I finally finished the Shoalwater Shawl! I did not work for a very long time in between October & August so it didn't really take me that long to finish. By the end, I also found this pattern very boring and tedious, there were 3 rows of gater stitch in between the pattern rows and it just went on forever and ever. I finally decided to just cast it off at the size it was instead of finishing the last pattern repeat. I figured that it would only add an inch or two at best and that really didn't matter to me at this point. I do like the shawl and I pinned it out to a sort of bell shape instead of flat across the top. It stays on very nicely and it will be perfect to bring to the movies to drape over me in the chilly air conditioning!
